In No Man’s Sky, people can sell almost anything, but they will want to keep some things for later use.
Some of the things that you can find in No Man’s Sky are new worlds, plants, resources, and animals. While moving through the stars, the Exosuit and Starship can be equipped with a number of tools that make exploring easier in some ways.
Units, the game’s money, are needed for crafting. No Man’s Sky players can sell and trade items in their inventory or scan things on worlds to get units. You can trade anything for units, but some things are more valuable than others. A player could lose something that they’ll need later if they sell something without thinking. These are things that people who play No Man’s Sky should never trade or sell.
Carbon & Condensed Carbon
Fuel for the Multi-Tool and Life Support Systems is carbon and condensed carbon. Even though it’s not always hard to find, No Man’s Sky players will want to make sure they always have this resource. The Multi-Tool is very important for getting materials, like more Carbon. At the same time, Life Support’s value is clear.
Condensed Carbon is carbon that has been pressed together and can be found in rocks and plants. Players will want to make sure they have Carbon on them at all times because it is used all the time. You shouldn’t sell it.
Oxygen
Carbon and oxygen are both used in the systems that keep life going. The player’s Life Support goes down when they fall, are attacked by pirates, or are exposed to the environment. The health of the player is kept up by Life Support. When it runs out, the player starts getting heavy damage and can die.
It can be found in many plants on most worlds. The Multi-Tool can be used to look for it and then mine it. People who need money can sell Oxygen, but it doesn’t fetch much because there aren’t many people interested in it. Since it’s not worth much to sell and is necessary for No Man’s Sky player to stay alive, it’s better to keep it.
Sodium & Sodium Nitrate
The Environmental Hazard features of the Exosuit are kept up with Sodium and Sodium Nitrate. A lot of planets in No Man’s Sky‘s worlds are too hot or too cold, don’t have enough oxygen, or have air that is harmful to life. If players want to move on foot, they need to install Environmental Hazards protection.
Sodium is found on most worlds, but not as often as Carbon or Oxygen. It is mostly taken from plants that are high in sodium, which have big yellow flowers. Rocks and smaller plants can be used to get small amounts. A player will need an Advanced Mining Laser to get Sodium Nitrate in the form of clear crystals. Selling Sodium isn’t worth it because, like Oxygen and Carbon, it’s important for players to stay alive.
Copper
Copper is a rare metal that is used to make tools, weapons, and technology. To make Chromatic Material, players will mostly use Copper and Ferrite Dust. Because it is used so often and there isn’t much of it left, players shouldn’t sell their stash.
Copper is harder to find than other natural materials like rocks and trees that can be used. Instead, Copper can be found in mineral deposits on different worlds. With the Analysis Visor, players can find these piles, which can be seen on the surface. After adding the Terrain Manipulator to their Multi-Tool, players can use it to get Copper. You can also shoot asteroids to find the rare element.
Salvaged Data
It is Buried Technologies that salvaged data is picked up. It is possible to trade salvaged data at the Anomaly or a Space Station at the Construction Research Unit. It’s used to get plans for building different types of bases. Most of the time, having these plans is more important than any units that players could get from selling Salvaged Data.
The Analysis Visor and the Terrain Manipulator can be used to find buried technologies on worlds. The right name will show up if Doodle Baseball players move their mouse over the Wi-Fi signal. It is possible for the Terrain Manipulator to cut through rock whenever they are above one until the Salvaged Data is shown.
Navigation Data
You can get navigation data for Curiosity from cartographers on the Anomaly and Space Stations. This data is used to find star charts and settlement sites. Because it’s rare, players won’t get too many of it by accident if they want to. It’s much more valuable for people to keep than to sell because it’s hard to find and has useful information on it.
With their Analysis Visor, players can sometimes find Navigation Data in Cargo Drops close to worlds. Planets with old data structures can also be used to find navigation data. The safest way to get it, though, is to buy it from Galactic Trade Terminals.
Salvaged Frigate Modules
You might have a harder time getting your hands on Salvaged Frigate Modules. There are a few ways for players to get the rare item, but most depend on how often Freighters or Missions drop it. People who play don’t want to sell them because they are so hard to find.
Freighters are often seen close to space stations, so players must shoot the open cargo to see if a Frigate Module drops. At a Space Station or the Anomaly, you can pick missions. When players finish one, they might get a Salvaged Frigate Module as a prize.
