Who needs a shotgun when you have these close melee weapons?

You can pick from a lot of great long-range guns in Starfield. You can get a lot of great pistols, rifles, and shotguns to make your character one of the most dangerous ship captains in the settled systems.

There are also a number of great ship guns that can make your spaceship even more dangerous. But these long-range weapons don’t always work in certain scenarios. For example, a case where you need to be quiet and careful. Which is why melee guns are useful. Some of the best melee weapons in the game are listed below. Which one is the best?

Ripshank

The ripshank is a different-looking tool that looks a lot like an ice pick. One of the least expensive guns in the game, it costs 365 credits to buy. For every hit, it does 12 harm and weighs 0.40 pounds.

Some of the other weapons on this list are stronger than the ripshank, but the ripshank is cheap and will help you in the beginning of the game. The light mass is also a great head-turner because it gives you more room to loot than some of the stronger melee weapons, which is very important in the beginning of the game.

Combat Knife

This is the smallest melee weapon you can get your hands on. It weighs only 0.36 pounds, so it’s great if you want more room to loot or if you just started the game and need more room to loot.

For only 505 credits, the battle knife does good damage (16 damage per hit) and is priced fairly. The blade also looks great, and it’s one of the most beautiful melee weapons in the game.

Osmium Dagger

This osmium dagger is worth 2,395 credits, weighs 2.70 pounds, and does 28 points of damage every time it hits something. You can quickly pull it out and hit an enemy who has gotten too close during a shootout because it is small and thin.

The dagger’s most interesting feature, though, is its rare ability to kill bugs. When you hit an alien with physical attacks, this effect makes them 30% more powerful.

Barrow Knife

The barrow knife is a great deal at only 1,220 credits, especially since it does 22 physical damage. Its low weight of 0.34 makes it easier to carry and gives you more room to grab loot.

Besides its base stats, the barrow knife doesn’t do anything else. But it does have one great thing about it. It’s an old earth weapon that goes well with the Livingstone Pistol and other old earth weapons in your collection.

UC Naval Cutlass

When it hits, the UC Naval Cutlass does 20 physical damage, making it a very powerful blade. With a 1.4 mass, it’s pretty heavy for a melee weapon, but at only 935 credits, it’s a great buy.

The UC Naval Cutlass may not do anything else besides what has already been said, but it does give you a ranged edge that many other melee weapons don’t.

Tanto

One of Starfield’s more attractive melee weapons is the tanto, which is based on the old Japanese sword of the same name that samurai warriors used.

You can get the tanto for just 3,075 credits. It is a light melee weapon that weighs 0.45 tons. The 40 physical damage it does is the main reason you should buy one of these blades. It’s about the same as some long weapons in Flappy Bird.

Wakizashi

It is already one of the best tools in the game because it is a samurai sword. After all, who wouldn’t want to use a sword to charge into battle?

You should be really excited about this amazing bladed weapon. You’ll be even more excited to hear that it does 49 physical damage per hit, which is about the same as some shotguns in the Settled Systems.

Syndicate Enforcer

This is yet another sword that you can buy: the syndicate enforcer. This weapon costs 12,894 credits, weighs 1.35 tons, and can hit for 49 damage each time.

The berserker epic effect of the syndicate enforcer is its main selling point. It lets you deal more damage to enemies while sacrificing some of your armor. With the amazing blade, you can also use the lacerate effect, which randomly gives your enemies the bleed effect after you hit them.

Va’Ruun Painblade

The va’Ruun painblade looks like a terrifying weapon, living up to its name. It costs 11,260 credits and weighs 1.80 tons. This is a great deal for a melee weapon that can do 71 physical damage, which is more than the average long weapon.

In addition, the Painblade is an important part of the Va’Ruun weapons and armor set, which will give you some of the best particle beam weapons in the Settled Systems and look great when you play the part.

The Last Priest

It’s clear that the last priest is the strongest melee tool in the game. It has a mass of 1.80, can do 85 physical damage per hit, and costs 20,268 credits, which makes sense. The last priest is more than just a tool that can do a lot of damage when slashed.

It has a rare effect called “eternal” that randomly hurts your targets with corrosive, radiation, poison, and explosive damage on top of the 85 physical damage it already does. This last priest’s great stats and effects make it one of the best weapons you can own in the Settled Systems of Starfield, not just the best melee weapon.
