Wayfinder’s Kyros has some very powerful magical abilities that, when used properly, can wipe out whole armies of enemies.
At first view, Kyros may look like any other mage, but he’s actually the most powerful character in all of Wayfinder. That being said, Kyros can be hard to use, and you’ll need a lot of practice to get good at juggling all of his abilities. However, he’s a very rewarding Wayfinder to learn because he can kill enemies all by himself when used properly.
But Kyros’ powers work in a bit of a strange way. For example, some are very important for improving his stats and doing as much damage as possible, while others aren’t nearly as useful. Kyros isn’t like most mage characters in other games; he’s much stronger and more powerful when played by someone who knows exactly what ability to use when the fight is hot.
Arcane Focus
- Marks foes in a small area as an ability. With each hit, the mark gets stronger until it finally goes off and does some small AOE damage.
You can use Arcane Focus to quickly wipe out a group of enemies when you’re playing with other people, but it’s really easy to forget about because it’s not very impressive. To begin, the enemy must be hit a few times to charge up the mark and get the most damage from the explosion. That being said, the explosion’s range is so small that it will only hit two other enemies.
Also, it’s hard to use the ability because Kyros will throw it right in front of him, forcing him to get close if he wants to. Arcane Focus isn’t great, but it can be useful for extra damage when hacking and cutting monsters to pieces.
Hand Of Reckoning
- Ability: Hit foes in a wide area with a lot of damage.
And even though Hand of Reckoning is Kyros’s best ability, it’s not very impressive and can be hard to use. However, it can still save your life in some situations. After a long scene at the beginning, Kyros will call down a huge hand from the sky and hit the ground hard, killing everyone in a pretty large area right away.
It may be very powerful and great for destroying bosses and enemies with low health, but it’s not very useful because it doesn’t do anything else. One example is that Kyros’s character is based on using Arcane Fragments. But Hand of Reckoning won’t be able to make them or use them. Another difference is that the ultimate doesn’t give any buffs after it’s been used. Which is different from every other character in some way. Even though it’s not very useful after use, the ability is still a lot of fun to use and can help a team get out of a scary scenario.
Siphon Radiant
- Ability: Kyros can send out a big wave of energy that hurts enemies, shortens cooldowns, and gains an arcane fragment.
If you play as Kyros, you should really get into the habit of using Siphon Radiant whenever it’s ready to be thrown out. Because it will make his other abilities much more useful. What this means is that he can use any of his skills to deal as much damage as possible before using Siphon Radiant to start round 2.
The attack’s range is also surprisingly big, and it’s easy for multiple enemies to be hit by a single blast. This isn’t really where the ability shines. So it would have been nice if it made a few more Arcane Fragments. As it is, it’s more of a happy bonus. It’s also important to note that Siphon Radiant moves very quickl. So there is almost no chance of getting trapped while using it.
Arcane Fragments
- Ability: Arcane Fragments can be obtained by Kyros by using Siphon Radiant and hitting combo finishers. You can use arcane fragments to give Savage Rake extra charges.
Arcane Fragments are the most important part of Kyros’s kit because they can turn Savage Rake. Which is already a very powerful attack, into an unblockable move that will destroy anyone who tries to run into this terrifying war mage. An Arcane Fragment will show up as a small purple ball around Kyros every time he picks one up. This makes it easy to keep track of them.
Attacking enemies with Arcane Focus and Hand of Reckoning is the best way to use Kyros. Then, use Siphon Radiant to recharge all of your just-used skills and get an Arcane Fragment along the way. Through Snake Game loop, Kyros can gather orbs that he can then use to launch his dangerous Savage Rake attack.
Savage Rake
- Ability: Kyros can rake the ground with powerful magical energy that hurts all enemies in front of him. You can use Arcane Fragments to give Savage Rake extra costs.
The ability Kyros uses most often is Savage Rake. His whole strategy is to improve it so that it can kill all of his enemies with a few swipes. Aside from the damage, which can increase greatly with each extra charge. Savage Rake is also very fast and can be used right after another without any problems. Kyros can also stay a safe distance away when he pulls it out.
The huge area of effect of the magic means that it can hit many enemies at once. For this reason, it’s best to use it on small grou. So that Kyros can quickly kill them with just a few cuts. This also works well for bosses that are big and have a lot of health, like Kolaar the Beastmaster and Broodmother S’ilreth.
